New Ford F-150
In trims ranging from the XL base, through XLT and the well-appointed Lariat and King Ranch, past the hard-charging, high-performance Raptor and all the way to the luxurious Platinum and Limited, this light-duty full-size pickup has remained a favorite since 1975. In fact, the new Ford F-150 for sale here in Windsor, CT has risen to the prestige of one of the best-selling trucks here in America today, and there's no shortage of reasons for it.
For one, it's hard-wearing, with a fully boxed steel frame comprised of 78-percent high-strength-steel and a body that's heat-treated and hardened, constructed of high-strength 6000-series aluminum-alloy -- the same grade used by both the military and most heavy industries. Secondly, it's super-versatile, with regular, extended, and four-door SuperCrew® cabs that can seat two, three, five, or six as well as 5.5-, 6.5-, and 8-foot bed options to take on a ton of tools and other outboard equipment.
Furthermore, it's safe, whether you're headed through parts unknown or just hauling around East Hartford. Personal safety, Safety Canopy®, and SOS post-crash alert systems rein in the otherwise even, confident footing afforded by a standard AdvanceTrac® system with RSC® (Roll Stability Controltrade;) and Curve Control, delivering ultimate peace of mind. What's more, a host of standard and available driver-assist features come along for the ride, offering wraparound protection. They include:
- Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, a system which enables safe distancing from other vehicles
- A lane-keeping system for staying on course
- Cross-traffic alert to keep you apprised of vehicles approaching perpendicularly behind you
- A pre-collision system with pedestrian detection to help avoid collisions
- A BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) for notifying you of oncoming traffic at your sides
- Reverse sensing capability for an extra pair of virtual eyes during backup
Of course, a new Ford F-150 makes available numerous intelligent towing features to boot, including:
- Pro Trailer Backup Assisttrade; and dynamic hitch assist with a line-of-sight guide, simplifying syncing up with your haul via a smart tow connector
- An 8-inch LCD instrument cluster and screen to help you monitor your productivity
- A trailer brake controller, and more
But above all, F-150 is a draft-horse when it comes to the turning and pulling power you need to get any job done. Not only does it appear in a 4x2 or two-speed automatic 4x4 drivetrain, with electronic shift-on-the-fly (ESOF) available. It also incorporates your choice of one of six hard-charging engines:
- For just the right balance of power and efficiency, a 290-horsepower, 3.3-liter Ti-VCT V6, backed by an energetic 265 pound feet of torque
- A twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 shelling 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, with progressive range select and several selectable drive modes that can lock out specific gears to enhance driving in certain conditions
- A high-octane 395-horsepower, 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8, capable of 400 pound-feet of torque and making possible a payload rating at the top of its class: up to 3,270 pounds
- A 375-horsepower, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, twin-turbocharged for a powerful feel, pushing 470 pound-feet of torque, and prepared to tow up to 13,200 pounds when properly equipped -- as ratings go, a class leader
- A high-output, likewise twin-turbocharged 450-horsepower, 3.5-literEcoBoost V6, churning out 510 pound-feet of torque and mated to both a Terrain Management Systemtrade; and a tow/haul mode for tacking through the thick of CT landscapes and weather dependably with a trailer
- A 250-horsepower, 3.0-liter Power Stroke® V6 Turbo Diesel, the height of efficiency, with variable-geometry turbocharging for get-up-and-go and a torque rating of 440 pound-feet to get there
Of course, it's also a great mobile office. First off, it's supremely comfortable. Choose among 40/20/40-split cloth front seats, those with leather trim, and those with multi-contour leather up front. Each comes available with heating, ventilated, with manual lumbar support, power adjustment, and the ability to set driver's seat memory in select models. In SuperCab and SuperCrew builds, 60/40 split bench rear seating even flips up conveniently, and in select cabs at the head of the line, heated rear seats comes standard.
Secondly, it's expertly equipped. Depending on trim, you'll find either SYNC® or SYNC® 3 infotainment systems, and the latter features Wi-Fi hotspot support via SYNC Connect, keeping you on the Web on the go. Other features to put you in control, in touch, and on track include voice command, Bluetooth technology, optional voice-activated navigation, SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link updates, and more. These aren't to mention SiriusXM compatibility in select trims, with entertainment coming in loudly and clearly through an optional B&O PLAY premium audio system. Nor does it mention support for the FordPass app, which lets you manage many features remotely.
New Ford Super Duty®
Ford F-250
Step up to a new F-250 model, in trims spanning the gamut from XL and XLT to Lariat and King Ranch, reaching the top of the lineup in Platinum and Limited, and you've gone heavy-duty. A full-size truck that roared onto the scene in 1999 "Built Ford Tough", today's iteration is even tougher, built to many of the same but, in several important ways, even ruggeder specs, and including much of what you've come to know and love in the new Ford F-150.
For one, F-250 is all about straightforward, heavy-hitting, and all-around, do-anything utility. Bed options shrink to a tidy 6.75 and 8 feet, ready to take on what you need for your trade. But two powerhouse engine choices live large:
- One's a 385-horsepower, 6.2-liter V8, prepared to dish 430 pound-feet of torque
- The other's a 450-horsepower, 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel, a beast of burden that rockets to the top of the class with the backing of 935 pound-feet of torque
Paired with a TorqShift-G® six-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift for some of the smoothest gear changes around, and with opportunities to equip available fifth-wheel and gooseneck hitch kits, you can count on stellar max payload and towing ratings -- up to 7,630 pounds and 18,500 pounds respectively. Plus, F-250 builds in even more in the way of safety features, from hill start assist for incline management and adaptive cruise control with collision warning and brake support to helpful adaptive Steering and even a rear CHMSL camera for monitoring your rear -- great for navigating traffic around West Hartford reliably with a load in tow.
Ford F-350 and F-450
Choose a new F-350 or F-450 pickup in an XL, XLT, a Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, or Limited trim, and your capabilities widen in scope even further. Both feature a TorqShift® heavy-duty six-speed SelectShift auto transmission built for a larger variety of jobs, and whereas engine options are two in F-350, in F-450, that 450-horsepower, 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 Turbo Diesel workhorse comes standard. Plus, the former can accommodate GVWR packages to increase its weight capacity to 10,000 or 11,400 pounds, resulting in max towing for anywhere from 18,000 to 32,000 pounds depending on drivetrain. The latter, on the other hand, swings for the proverbial fences, capable of taking on a trailerful up to 34,000 pounds.
